Your options are to utilise a gateway device with your existing PSTN or ISDN lines for inbound and outbound calls, or you could port your existing numbers across to VoIP moving away from PSTN / ISDN altogether.
The NexVoice Service Platform (NVSP) is developed on Nextep owned and managed infrastructure to provide VoIP services where Nextep has presence. The NVSP provides telephony functionality, call routing and call features on its own network. NexVoice delivers clear, high quality voice communication in a variety of network conditions. End users can choose between two voice codecs designed to improve either voice quality or bandwidth utilisation on their broadband Internet connection. Nextep recommends either of the following default codecs: • Toll Quality Voice: G.711 codec (bandwidth reservation: 64kbps per voice channel) • Near Toll Quality Voice: G.729a codec (bandwidth reservation: 32kbps per voice channel)
